Rent should be fair
We believe that all people should pay fair rent. Many students and non-students alike pay too much rent or utility costs in Netherlands. What a lot of students - especially international students - don't know, is that the highest rent that can be charged for individual living spaces and rooms is limited by law. Landlords take advantage of this unawareness by overcharging rent. Fortunately we can do something about it! We can lower your rent to a fair price. This is based on No Win, No Fee - so you cannot lose money.

Lower your rent with RentBusters
Every student room in the country is rent controlled by law - it has a maximum rent that you may be charged for it. What this highest possible rent is, is determined through a points system. The more points the property has, the higher the maximum amount of rent you can be charged for it. Rooms get points for having more floor space and better amenities. If your lease came into effect less than six months ago, you will even get back the rent you were overcharged. Do you want to know what the maximum rent is for your room? Contact us!
You could easily save a hundred or two hundred euros a month. And if your rental lease started less than six months ago, you even get back the rent you were overcharged. If we can't get your rent down, you don't pay us a thing. And if we win the case for you, it really does not cost you anything either, because if you win you're about to get back a lot of money.

Protected by Law
A lot of people assume that pursuing a Huurcommissie ruling to have your rent lowered is a surefire way to lose your rental lease. After all, if you want to pay less, why shouldn't your landlord simply replace you with a different tenant? Fear of having their lease terminated and being evicted stops a lot of people from having their rent lowered. However, this is completely unnecessary! Dutch law absolutely guarantees that you cannot be evicted from your room or apartment. Your landlord does not even have the legal means to annul your lease - only you do. There is zero danger of losing your lease when you lower your rent.
No Win No Fee
If you start a procedure to lower your rent, you don't pay anything. We take care of all costs to the procedure. If we secure a favorable ruling for you and you save on rent, you pay RentBusters a one-time fee of between 20 and 30% of the rent you've saved. We work on a basis of No Win, No Fee - so if we cannot get your rent down, you do not pay us anything. So if you think about it, it's a win-win for you.
How Does it Work?
1. We will do an intake over the phone with you.
2. We will send your request to Huurcommissie, at no cost to you.
3. A member of Huurcommissie will inspect the property
4. We will go to a Huurcommissie hearing on your behalf, at no cost to you
5. You will receive Huurcommissie's ruling by mail and start paying less immediately.
What Can I Save?
That depends on the amount of rent you pay now, and the number of points your room or apartment is awarded. For a rough indication, take a look at these charts. We will tell you our best estimate on the amount of money you can save if you give us a call. You can expect to save as much as hundreds of euros every month - take a look at these past cases.
